An original mixed media painting on heavyweight rag paper with deckled edges by contemporary Cincinnati artist and art critic Fran Watson. The piece is primarily created in acrylic paint, with applied ripped paper and magazine cutouts. It depicts a brilliant red wall lined with rows of curious portraits. Several hands, painted in a thoughtful Expressionist style, rise dramatically in the foreground. The painting is signed in black to the lower right. It is mounted to white backing and matted in white, and wrapped in acetate for safekeeping. A hanging wire is attached to the piece’s verso. Watson has exhibited extensively and has works in private collections across the city.
