A limited edition woodcut engraving after Le Premier Ciel, originally painted by well listed artist, Salvador Dali (1904 – 1989). This print on wove paper, which comes from Dali’s Divine Comedy series, depicts an angelic figure adorned in a salmon pink robe extending its arms, as a plumage of blue and gray clouds form around a fallen form raising its arm towards the radiating sun. The composition is rendered with loose pools of color reinforced with gestural linework. To the lower portion is an in plate initaling from what is assumed to be the person responsible for this reproduction. The print is presented under glass beneath single-layered matting in a brass tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso. Also affixed to the verso is an affixed print documentation, which denotes that this is one of 4765 editions, as well as an artist statement from Merrill Chase Galleries. - slight edge wear on frame; affixed statement and information to verso stained, wrinkled and torn to edges.
