Reproduction Cast Iron Mechanical Coin Bank

Item Details

A mid- to late-twentieth-century reproduction of a cast iron mechanical coin bank from the early twentieth century. This painted metal bank features the figures of a baseball pitcher, catcher and batter; the pitcher launches each coin past the batter and into a hole beneath the catcher. The rectangular green bank base has an icon of crossed baseball bats and the words ‘Hometown Battery’, and the underside of the base is marked ‘Reproduced From Original in Collection of The Book of Knowledge’.

Condition

- bat broken; surface wear and chipping of paint; mechanical operation untested.
