Marc Chagall Signed Hand-Pulled Lithograph Exhibition Poster

An original vintage 1968 hand-pulled lithograph on paper exhibition poster promoting the exhibition of the work of very well-listed Russian-French Expressionist artist Marc Chagall (1887 – 1985), printed by Fernand Mourlot. The exhibition was held from July 10 – September 15, 1968. The poster features an image by Chagall titled Blue Bird. It features a massive blue bird flying in front of a bright full moon above a cityscape. It is signed and dated 1954 in-plate by Chagall to the lower left. The poster is also hand-signed in ink by Chagall to the lower right, though it is very faded. It is presented behind acrylic glass in a black acrylic frame with a sawtooth hanger to the verso.
Condition
- yellowing and adhesive residue across poster from previous matting/framing. Light creasing across. Chagall’s signature to lower right is extremely faded.
