An original watercolor painting on heavyweight watercolor paper by listed 20th century Cincinnati artist and educator Jessie Phil Olmes (1925 – 1996), titled Shore Mist. The painting depicts abstracted vertical striations in cool shades of pale blue, green, and gray ink with heavy charcoal gray forms cutting across it dramatically. The painting is signed in black to the lower right. It is presented behind non-glare glass in a wooden frame with cast surface texture and rustic pale gray finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso. Olmes moved to Cincinnati in 1944 and taught art at Norwood High School and the Cincinnati Women’s Art Club. He was a member of the Cincinnati Art Club.
