Ceramic and Porcelain Floral Tableware
Item Details
An extensive collection of antique and vintage tableware items includes a milk pitcher; creamer; two oblong plates; a small serving bowl; a two-handled jardiniere; a covered casserole; a covered candy jar; three trivets and nine fruit themed plates. The milk pitcher is decorated with vibrant tones of red, green, black and gold in a stylized Imari pattern, with gilt trim on the curved molded handle, the lip of the pitcher and the sides. The underside is marked ‘AMHERST Ironstone, Made in England’. The small porcelain creamer has a floral design and gilt to the lip and the handle, marked ‘Germany’ and a crown and crossed swords mark with the initials R. and C to the underside. The largest of the oblong plates is a floral porcelain design that has remnants of gilt to the edge. The underside is marked with a wreath and ‘O&E.G. – Royal- Austria’ The smaller oblong dish is gilded along the edges and in a wreath pattern to each end. The interior of the bowl is embellished with a softly colored floral design. The reverse is marked twice with a ‘Haviland France Limoges’ mark. The porcelain bowl is Noritake Ivanhoe pattern. The three trivets are metal rimmed with earthenware centers featuring a Japanese inspired design. MArked to the reverse, ‘Farberware Company by Leigh Potters, INC. U.S.A.’ The two handled pot features a lobular base with two handles. The covered casserole was manufactured in England and features images of vegetables, and the base is marked. The small candy jar has images of nuts and candy molded into the body with gilt trim. The nine fruit themed plates feature one that is marked ‘Germany’ while the remaining eight are marked ‘Bavaria Germany.’ Each plate is on a white ground with gold trim and images of fruit and flowers to the center.
Condition
- to fair. Crazing and staining noted on several pieces. Fading and loss of detail commensurate with age and use.
