Anthony Guyther Surrealist Collage Selection
Item Details
A selection of three collages on paper by Anthony Guyther (1921 – 2017). The collages are created from old black and white engravings and hand-colored by the artist. The first work, titled Nereid Corkscrew depicts a human form with a fish skeleton that is signed in pencil to the lower right and dated 1978. The second work, titled Rosa Medusa depicts a female form with snakes and roses that is signed in pencil to the lower right and dated 1979. The third work, titled Erte Nereid depicts a human form with shells and an iguana that is signed in pencil to the lower left and dated 1978. Each piece is presented behind hand painted mats, under glass in wood frames with wires to the verso ready to hang.
