Item Details
A semi-antique hand-knotted Shadsar Hashan area rug. This Persian wool rug features a crisp curvilinear design beginning with a star medallion in cream and cobalt over an oval red field. The field is populated with palmette, foliate, and floral arabesques, the pattern continuing into cobalt and cream spandrels. The primary border is cobalt with a palmette meander pattern. The rug has overcast edges and finishes at either end with short, natural wool warp fringe. It is marked on the reverse. A similar rug is offered in lot #17IND037-142.
