Victorian Chainmail Finger Ring Purse With Sterling Silver Frame
Item Details
A Victorian chainmail finger ring purse with a sterling silver frame circa the early 1900s. This purse features a small chain handle with a ring loop in the center for carrying purposes, which is attached to a sterling silver frame that is embossed with various scroll and acanthus leaf motifs with a kiss style closure in the center. The body of the purse is comprised of small metal rings tightly woven together resembling chainmail, along with small circular beads decorating the bottom. The interior of the top frame is marked ‘Sterling’.
Condition
Good condition for age. Slight tarnishing throughout to sterling silver as well as chainmail. Some beads missing near the bottom of the bag. Very minor damage to chainmail, including a few of the links on one side are broken/disconnected at the top and the frame is missing the hardware to keep to purse attached on one side. Closure does not latch tightly.
