Aesthetic Movement Style Gesso and Gilt Frame

Item Details

An offset lithograph laid on canvas with a textured coat presented in an Aesthetic movement gesso and gilt frame after an original oil painting by Henri Fantin-Latour (1836 – 1904), originally dated September 1876. This still life depiction features various daisies situated in a curved glass vase among peaches, grapes and a bouquet of roses. Signed and dated in plate to the upper left corner. Presented in an Aesthetic style movement gesso and gilt frame with an ogee shaped sight edge. To the center, a slightly curved ornate field with palmets, fruits and floral motifs moulded in a running pattern with black undertones. No visible marks are present to the verso of the frame. A pair of ‘Martin Scherer’ are affixed to the verso of the frame.
