Peter Robert Keil Original Oil Painting on Board "Picasso"
Item Details
An original 1992 oil painting on board by listed German-born artist Peter Robert Keil (born 1942), titled Picasso. The work features an abstracted face painted in fields of watery red, blue, yellow, and purple paint with thick black outlines. The painting is signed and dated to the lower left and is again signed, dated, and titled to the verso. It is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation. Influenced by German Expressionism and graffiti elements, Keil is known for his simplified abstractions of traditional art subjects. He studied under Otto Nagel at a young age and developed relationships with other renowned artists such as Joan Miro. As Keil abandoned realism and developed his signature style, he used more vibrant colors rapidly applied with large gestural brushstrokes resembling the abstract style of Picasso.
