Antique American Harp/Zither
Item Details
An early circa 1915 harp/zither with a wood body and forty-one strings. Sometimes referred to as a zither, this harp can be played laying flat or in one’s lap. The bottom of the harp states ‘Patented-Patents Pending’. There is a paper label inside of the sound chamber which reads ‘American Radio Concert Harp Company Special Advertising Instrument Sold Through Demonstration Only Manufactured New Jersey U.S.A.’ There is a patriotic American Eagle decal or emblem that adorns the top portion of this harp. The woodworking gold and brown floral designs are also portrayed on this antique instrument.
Condition
- untested; edge and surface wear to finish, and backside has some splitting of the wood from age and use. Nicks in the wood. American eagle decal is complete.
