Item Details
An antique hand-knotted Turkish Oushak area rug. This semi-rectilinear wool rug is woven in a palette of sunflower, cream, salmon, gray, and taupe. It features an allover pattern of large-scale palmettes and flowers over a salmon field. Compound borders include three checked guard stripes, two minor borders with running water patterns, and a major border with a pattern of squares containing floral elements. The rug has double overcast edges, finishing at either end with unbound edges that reveal wool warp fringe. It is unmarked.
