A pair of hand-knotted of antique rugs. This lot contains a Caucasian prayer rug and a tribal area rug, possibly Turkish. The prayer rug is rendered in a palette of red, sapphire, tan, and ivory. It features a rectilinear design that includes perepedil motifs and a running water pattern offsetting a mihrab that fills most of the field. It has overcast edges and finishes in unbound natural wool warp fringe with the possible inclusion of goat hair. The area rug is woven in a palette of red, brown, deep midnight blue, and ivory. If features a densely patterned rectilinear design including arrows, stars, and flowers. The remaining fragments of its edges are overcast. In other edge areas it has unbound wool fringe on warp and weft, with the possible inclusion of goat hair. Neither rug is marked.

- to poor; the prayer rug has significant wear to pile, including bald spots where warp and weft threads are exposed; there are areas where rips have been repaired with visible stitching; fading of dyes; the red rug is mostly unbound, with loss to edge area.
