Pair of Wool Navajo-Style Area Rugs
Item Details
A pair of Navajo-style hand-woven wool area rugs. An unmarked rug features double diamond medallions in the center with other geometric motifs, in a palette of taupe, tan, cream, white and lavender. The ends of the rug have knotted fringe. The other rug is tan, featuring blue and black stripes on the narrow ends, with blue and black geometric motifs in the center of the rug, and cream knotted fringe on the ends. This rug is labeled ‘100% Wool Hand Woven – Ortega’s Weaving Shop – Chimayo, New Mexico’.
Condition
- taupe, lavender and white rug has some areas of wear and small holes in the centers of one set of diamonds
- may have light marks or spots in areas
