Antique Mid-19th-Century Hand-Colored Engraving "Gloxinia specis
Item Details
An antique mid-19th-century hand-colored engraving by English artist S. Nevitt after the original work by ‘Mrs. Withers’, titled Gloxinia speciosa, published for Benjamin Maund’s serial publication The Botanist (1836-1842). This plate is mounted under an aged white mat, behind antique hand-rolled glass in an antique beveled wood frame.
Condition
- age discoloration and foxing to print and mat. Finish of frame is worn and cracked throughout with a few scratches.
