A Chinese mixed media relief painting on wood. This piece depicts women adorned in white robes congregating in a courtyard, two of which play checkers while the rest watch. It is presented as a low relief composition, featuring carved shell that has been hand painted. This is contained by a silver and gold tone painted border featuring circular diamond patterning. To the verso is a wire for hanging.
