Brass Rubbing From Belgian Madonna and Child

A brass rubbing on dark blue paper rubbing. Depicting a throned Madonna and Child, this was taken from a 15th-century brass plate in a church in Nivelles, Belgium that was almost destroyed in a 1940 bombing. The rubbing is marked to the bottom ‘Madonna, Nivelles, Belgium, 1464’. It is presented behind glass in a silver tone metal frame and wired ready to hang. Information is attached on verso.

- rippled under glass; stickers on glass; scratches and nicks to frame; staining to backing.
