Indo-Persian Hot Wax Stamp Bejeweled with Amethyst and Sapphires
Item Details
A large Indo-Persian hot wax stamp bejeweled with faceted amethyst and round cut sapphire accents set in vermeil. This period bronze wax seal is the type to have been used for government documents of the era. The central script appears to be of Persian language origin. The handle and cover were later embellished with natural gemstones to enhance the piece.
