An original 1972 oil portrait painting on canvas by listed American artist Esther Seymour-Stevenson (20th century), titled Alice Marguerite Marrland. The image depicts a handsomely dressed young woman wearing a green bonnet adorned with flowers, a deep violet dress with a white lace collar, and long white gloves on her hands. She fans herself with a foldout accordion fan, and looks on flirtatiously. Artist signature is signed in paint to the lower left. This work is mounted in a beveled wood frame with cast molding and a pickled gilt finish. The verso is marked with title and date, and reads ‘Hold for Vivian.’
