An oil painting on canvas board, titled In the Room by listed artist Murat Kaboulov (1939 – 2010). This painting depicts a woman wearing a purple dress standing in side portraiture against a dark surface, which is surrounded by a pastel background of layered brushstrokes. To the verso is handwritten information including the title, artist signature and date (2004). Russian-born artist Kaboulov studied at the prestigious Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia in the studio of Prof. E Moiseyenko and moved to Brentwood, Tennessee in 1992.
