1975 SG Imam Oil on Canvas of a Sitar Musician
Item Details
A 1975 oil painting of canvas by Pakistani artist SG Imam. This depicts a full-length portrait of a seated musician, legs cross with a long cream dress. He plays an off-white sitar, that rests upon his thigh and knee. The artist has used a soft palette of creams and taupes, and the figure sits within a complementary non-descript background. It is signed and dated in the bottom right corner. This work is presented in a white painted wooden frame, wired for hanging.
Condition
- frame has scratches throughout; paint is chipping at corners of frame; craquelure throughout with some loss.
