A woodcut print titled Moonwatcher by listed Austrian-American artist Helen Siegl (1924-2009). Rendered in black and blue, this work features a young boy wearing a patterned nightshirt and looking up to the moon with his arms wide open. A dog stands next to him and leans its head back while howling at the moon. The print is signed by hand to the lower right and titled by hand to the lower left. A label from Saunders Frames is adhered to the verso. The print is displayed under glass with off-white matting in a simple black wood frame.

Born in Vienna, Austria, Siegl studied at the Academy of the Applied Arts in Vienna. She is known for her book illustrations and her experimentation in printmaking, combining various techniques such as woodcuts, linocuts, plaster blocks, and etching. Her work has been collected by various art institutions including the National Gallery of Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
