Antique Tribal "Mina Khani" Runner

Item Details

An antique tribal Mina Khani wool rug. This hand-knotted runner is rendered in an abrashed palette of madder red, salmon, sapphire, midnight blue, brown, and cream. It features a large-scale Mina Khani pattern with connected hexagons (some of them irregularly executed) enclosing large rosettes over a madder red field. The field is framed by multiple borders beginning with a sapphire strip edged in midnight blue and containing repeating flowers. The primary border features a stylized turtle pattern over salmon. Guard strips mirror the sapphire and floral inner border. The rug has overcast edges, finishing at either end with unbound wool warp fringe. It is unmarked.
