A 1987 collection of four enameled paintings on porcelain plates by Maria. In delicate sepia-tone ink linework, these depict landmarks and cityscapes of Bruges, Belgium. Port D’Ostende depicts the French Gothic building at the water’s edge Entrée Béguinage depicts the bridge and the facade of the monastery complex, Jerusalem Church depicts the stepped steeple of the 15th Century church, and Dijver-Gruuthusebrug depicts the old arched bridge over the Dijver canal. Each is titled and signed ‘Maria’ near the bottom nad marked on the back by hand, ‘hand-painted 1987’.These works have been painted on porcelain plates by Sheffield in the Regency Gold pattern with hand applied gilt rims. .
