An abstract oil painting on canvas titled Mysterious by contemporary artist Brian Niebauer. Portrayed with extremely thick three-dimensional impasto, this work features cool colors troweled and plastered across the surface exhibiting various smooth and rough textures. Parts of the pigment are incised or carved away, and parts are applied in globs, revealing both three-dimensional recesses and protrusions throughout the surface. The composition is signed to the lower right and is double-matted with tan and blue mats. It is not under glass and remains unframed. A descriptive label from the Hayden-Hays Gallery is adhered to the verso, along with a label from the Frame Factory. An ink inscription to the verso gives a possible alternate title, Mid Morning.

- yellowing throughout mat; minor faint marks throughout mat; small holes, dents, and scratches throughout cardboard backing.
