A color lithograph after H. Thomas’s Volunteer. This print on paper depicts the racehorse, who was sired by Rysdyk’s Hambletonian, presented in side portraiture against a rolling countryside. An in plate signature is seen to the lower left corner of the composition, which is complemented by a printed inscription to the margins denoting the title and artist credit. The print is presented under glass in a gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- glass is scratched across top; chipping to frame’s veneer in corners; slight separation between frame and glass.
