An engraving by listed artist Timothy Cole (1852 – 1931) after Gabriel Metsu’s The Lace Maker Dresden Gal. This print depicts Metsu’s painting in a monochromatic color scheme, as a woman wearing a bonnet sits on a rocking chair stitching together lace while her cat watches from the shadow. An in plate signature and date (1915) are found to the lower corners of the composition, with a graphite signature and title to the margins. The print is presented under glass beneath a dual-layered mat in a black wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso. For more information on the artist, visit the link below.

- to fair; discoloration around edges of mat and paper; spot of wear to left on mat; wrinkled paper; paper backing stained, torn and punctured.
