An engraving by listed artist Timothy Cole (1852 – 1931) after Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot’s Bathers of the Borromean Isles. This print depicts Corot’s painting in a monochromatic color scheme, as people are seen hanging from a tree trunk bathing in a quiet stream. In plate signatures and a date (1910) are found to the lower corners of the composition, with a graphite signature and title to the margins. The print is presented under glass beneath a single-layered mat in a black wooden frame with a handwritten note and hanging wire to the verso. - to fair; chipping throughout frame’s veneer and border; partial sticker residue to upper left; glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; loose backing.
