1945 WWII Instrument of Surrender Witness Card
Item Details
A WWII Instrument of Surrender Witness Card. This witness card was issued to servicemen who were present at the surrender of the Japanese Forces to the Allied Powers on September 2, 1945. The card is issued to William Meek, F1c (Fireman First Class) who was on board the U.S.S. Runner (SS476) submarine in Tokyo Bay during the formal surrender. The card is presented behind a white mat gilt gold tone rope and bead double wood frame. The hanging wire is attached to the verso.
