An oil painting on canvas titled The Seashell by J.H. Brown (1812-1892). This painting depicts a young girl and an older man listening to the sound of a seashell in an interior setting and is signed by hand in paint to the lower left corner. The piece is mounted in a gold tone wood frame with plaster floral details and a wire present to verso for hanging purposes.
Condition
- to fair; edge wear on the frame, gesso has chipped and cracked in various areas on the frame; foxing present to the back of the canvas.
