A pair of wheel thrown studio stoneware pottery vases. One features a gloss black glaze highlighted with designs of speckled triangular forms, having a cylindrical form with defined shoulder and narrow mouth with a flared rim, resting on a raised, trimmed foot. Marked with a scipher to the underside in black underglaze. Also included is a A Japanese inspired example with swaths of brown/copper over a rust.copper field, and having a tall cylindrical shape with a soft shoulder, marked with an incised ‘X’ to the underside.
