Hand Thrown Studio Pottery Including Raku
Item Details
A collection of studio pottery. There are pieces made from stoneware and earthenware bodies and all examples were handmade on the potter’s wheel. The featured example is a neatly thrown porcelain crystalline bud vase with burst of blue quartz crystals on an intentionally crazed yellow ground. The collection also includes three bowls, one being made of porcelain or B Mix clay and having a raku glaze decoration. There are illegible signatures incised on the underside of all the examples as well as an impressed mark reading ‘Cook Clayworks’.
Condition
- one bowl was decorated using the raku process, which is not suitable for food use; intentional crazing on the surface of the vase.
