Vintage Arabia "Ruska" Stoneware Casserole and Hand Thrown Plate

A vintage stoneware casserole dish by Arabia of Finland in the Ruska pattern. This black and brown stoneware casserole or dutch oven has a wide lip, a flat lid and no side handles. The dish is marked ‘Arabia Finland Ruska Dishwasher-Proof’ and includes a vintage brochure and a typewritten letter dated 1989 regarding the mail-order purchase of the casserole. Also included is a hand thrown white stoneware charger or platter, having an extended rim, having a deep brown to black high-gloss mottled glaze with a white lichen effect, signed illegibly to the underside.
