Gabor Peterdi Limited Edition Etching with Aquatint on Paper "Burning Rocks"

A limited edition etching on paper with aquatint titled Burning Rocks by well-listed Hungarian-American artist Gabor Peterdi (1915-2001), published in 1959. The work depicts an array of red rocks embedded into the earth. Numbered 5 in an edition of 45, the print is marked with its edition number in graphite to the lower left margin. Titled, signed, and dated by the artist in graphite to the lower margin. Under a single layer of white mat, the item is presented under museum glass in a wooden frame.

Peterdi was known for his prints and paintings. Working predominantly in the New England area, Peterdi also taught art at Hunter College, Yale University, and the Brooklyn Museum.
