Item Details

A late 19th-century gesso and gilt floral moulding frame, circa 1870s. This piece features a wooden liner, a sanded panel with a dog rose relief moulding in an antique dark gold finish. No mark was found to the verso. The frame includes the glass.

Condition

-several missing gesso areas and abrasion on floral motif on frame; stains, scratches, craquelure and wear to antique dark gold finish; smudges and dust glass, would benefit from cleaning; minor abrasion to wooden liner; exposed nails to verso on frame; loosely attached glass would benefit from securing.
