An original pencil drawing, Over the Great Plains – Prong Horn Antelope No. 67-100, by well-listed artist William Herbert ‘Buck’ Dunton (American, 1878-1936). The drawing depicts a group of three antelope gazing into the distance from a high vantage point in rocky terrain. Dunton was a member of the Salmagundi Club, and was a founding member of the Taos Society of Artists. A penciled notation to the lower right reads ‘W. Herbert Dunton ’32 ’Heart of the West’ Series. by V.E. Dunton [Dunton’s daughter, Vivian Ernestine]’ The drawing is presented with a white mat and glass in a chrome metal frame and is ready to hang.
