Madagascar Valiha Tube Zither

Item Details

A valiha tube zither from Madagascar. The piece is made from a cylindrical piece of hollowed wood, carved with decorative animal and foliate motifs. Strings are stretched across wooden bridges to the outside of the tube; they are attached to either end with strips of animal hide.
