Gouache Scenes on Board from "Vidhura-Pandita Jataka"
Item Details
A pair of gouaches on board. These pieces depict scenes from an Indian tale called Vidhura-Pandita Jataka, one of the ten lives of Gautama Buddha. The scenes show the yakkha or demon, Punnaka, riding his magical horse with the sage, Vidhura, holding on to the horse’s tail. These works are both presented behind either brown or pink mat in wooden frames with gold tone finishes. There are chain hanger to each verso.
Condition
- some fraying to mat; worn paint on frame along edges.
