An offset lithograph after John James Audubon’s (1785 – 1851) compositions of birds. These two prints on paper include Canada Warbler and Warbling Vireo, both of which depict the titular birds in pairs nesting on a singular branch sprouting flowers. To the margins of the composition are in plate notes regarding each bird and plate number, as well as a listed title below. The prints are presented under glass beneath a single-layered mat in a wooden frame featuring painted black and gold tone borders. To the verso is an affixed certificate of authenticity from Gaines American and a sawtooth bracket for hanging.
Condition
- light wrinkling to paper; stain to upper left of mat; glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; foxing to certificate of authenticity on verso.
