Arts and Crafts Style Gilt and Gesso Frame
Item Details
An Arts and Crafts style gilt and gesso frame. This piece features a top edge with dentil moulding, foliate scrolls with floral springs to the frontal section and corners, a sight edge with a semi-oval running molding in a gilt finish with a red base. No mark was found to the verso. A framer’s label, handwritten numeric information and monogram reading ‘SM’ is present to the verso of the frame.
Condition
- minor areas of abrasion to gilt finish along the frame revealing red undertones and gesso; minor dents to gesso; scratches and wear to wooden verso.

- measures the frame; rabbet size approximately 36.5" W x 26.25" H.
