Item Details

An antique wardrobe trunk by Hartmann. The metal trunk has a black finish and brass tone hardware. It opens to a stack of five graduated drawers with bail handles and to a second compartment with wooden hangers. The exterior features leather, strap handles as well as a travel sticker marked ‘N.A.S.M. / Holland-Amerika Lign / No NY 8 / Special Cargo’. One panel is painted with the name ‘S. Swift / Poughkeepsie, N.Y.’ It also retains a maker’s label printed ‘Hartmann Cushion Top Wardrobe Trunks / FEB. 24 1914’.
