Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Mashhad area rug. This wool rug displays a central star medallion in a field of curvilinear floral patterns and offers a palette of mauve, red. navy blue, cornflower blue, steel blue, tan, golden brown, and ecru. The primary border features a herati pattern flanked by guard borders that show rosettes, cloud bands, and boteh. The rug is finished with double overcast serge edges and a natural wool warp fringe at either end. The rug has been restored to prevent further loss of fringe.
