Antique Vatican Relic "Holy Face" Engraving on Cloth

An antique Vatican Holy Face Relic, circa 1849-1900. This engraving on cloth depicts the ‘Holy Face’ image, with an inscription underneath reading ‘VERA EFFIGIES SACRI VULTUS DOMINI NOSTRI JESU CHRISTI, QUAE ROMAE IN SACROSANCTA BASILICA S.PETRI IN VATICANO RELIGIOSISSIME ASSERVATUR ET COLITUR.’ It has a blue Vatican stamp and the stain of a red seal. It is sealed in a plastic sleeve.

Condition

Wear consistent with age and use; relic is sealed and preserved in plastic sleeve. Wax seal is removed and the cloth is stained.
