Dell Weller Limited Edition Etching "Flush"

A signed limited edition etching with drypoint on paper by listed Louisiana/Texas artist Dell Weller (1927-2017). Titled Flush, this hunting scene depicts a flock of quail that have been flushed from their hiding places in a meadow with large mature trees in the background. It was signed by hand to the lower right, titled to the lower center, and numbered 118 out of and edition of 200 to the lower left. This piece is presented with a single brown mat, under glass in a silver tone wood frame, wired for hanging. An artist biography is attached on verso. Melvin ‘Dell’ Weller studied at the Art Students League in New York City before returning to New Orleans where he taught himself drypoint and etching, expanding upon his training of oil painting. He later became a founding teacher at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts alongside Auseklis Ozols in 1978.
