Miniature Sterling Matchbox Covers and Matchboxes
Item Details
A group of six vintage 1950s sterling silver matchbox covers and miniature matchboxes. Five of the covers are hallmarked Prill Silver Co., and have an engraved likeness of the Swedish Imperial Eagle to front, similar to the imagery of the two ‘Vulcan Safety Matches’ made in Tidaholm, Sweden. There are also two Swedish ‘La Petite’ matchboxes as well as one matchbox advertising the Maisonette restaurant formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio. Each matchbox cover is stamped ‘Sterling’ to lower edge. The total approximate group weight of matchbox covers alone is 2.860 ozt.
