Two Craft Dolls

A group of two craft or tourist dolls. One doll was handmade in Vermont at FireRobin puppets, Fortune Teller. The tag describes ‘The cone puppet you are now holding represents the work of FireRobin Puppets, a cottage industry in the village of Richmond, Vermont. Artist Carol Feierabend designs each puppet. The puppet building porcess begins in the homes of Gale and Kea our talented stitchers, then creative artisans Bonnie and Linda hand paint each face and perform the final magic of assembling the finished puppet. Of course the puppets’ true characters become more fully developed as they mature in the hands of their owners.’ It also describes the Fortune Teller: ‘The Fortune-teller gazes into her crystal ball in search of your past, present and future. Her wise prophecies have impressed many a seeker of truth. Listen carefully and you may recognize elements of wisdom in her words.’ The second doll is a South Transylvania doll. She is a doll in Romanian folk costume, in black, white and gray.
