Antique Hand-Painted Bisque Doll With Inset Eyes and Leather Body
Item Details
An antique hand-painted bisque porcelain doll. This doll features inset glass eyes, a hand-painted face and a leather body. Likely produced in Europe prior to 1915, her body features a stuffed leather torso, arms with glazed ceramic hands, and leather legs with knee joints that allow her to sit. She is dressed in a skirt and coat of satin weave fabric with a striped apron over top, knit stockings and suede shoes. The head is marked to the back with three lines.
Condition
- tips of four fingers chipped off, left shoulder of jacket is fraying, small tear in the right knee leather stitching, wig is missing, light soiling to the face.
