A hand-knotted Indo-Bakhtiari area rug. This wool rug features a diamond lattice pattern featuring notched diamond panels in different ground colors, the panels containing different elements, such as tree of life, floral, and other symbolic motifs. Framing the field are two borders that feature meandering carnations in different sizes, over ivory or brown. Edges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with ivory cotton warp fringe. It is unmarked.
