Lucian Lupinski Oil on Board Painting of a Fox Hunt

An oil on academy board by listed Indiana-based artist Lucian Lupinski (1918-2002). This Impressionistic styled painting depicts a traditional fox hunt, with a hunter on horseback riding through an autumnal forest scene. The color palette is of saturated oranges, yellows, blues, and purples. The piece is signed by the artist to the lower right and dated 1998 with the letters, ‘M.A. S.O.T.W.’ It is presented in a dark wooden frame and with hanging wire attached to verso. Lupinski was an artist-in-residence for the Post in Indianapolis and is best known for his portraits of Governor Robert D. Orr, and Tom Selleck, which was featured on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post in 1987.
